Top 5 Comfort Shows On Disney+
1. Bob’s Burgers
An ultimate comfort show. This show brings me so much joy. The show follows the lives of the Belcher family who run a burger restaurant. I think if you have siblings, you can appreciate this show on an extreme level. The dynamic between the Belcher children is hilariously realistic and relatable. We can all relate to at least one character in the show. The animation of Bob’s Burgers also adds to the humour of the show, they all have funny little noses and big bulging eyes. Think The Simpsons but with a more sarcastic, slightly more adult sense of humour.
2. Dinosaurs
Another comedy following the lives of a family. Except this family are dinosaurs. If you’re a nineties baby, you’ll probably remember this one! Baby Sinclair is the true star of this Jim Henson sitcom. This funny little baby is always up to mischief and is the real reason I love this show. This show is perfect for a quick laugh and excellent background tv, you don’t have to pay too much attention to know what's going on.
3. The Simpsons
I feel like I don’t even need to explain this one, it's a classic. To me The Simpsons is the epitome of comfort watching. It reminds me of coming home from secondary school and doing my homework at the kitchen table while my Mam makes dinner and lets me have The Simpsons on in the background. It reminds me of weekend mornings as a child, waking up early and watching episodes of The Simpsons on the couch with my Dad. And now, it’s after work watching and searching for my favourite episodes when I need them. I love that The Simpsons is now on Disney+, they have the episodes divided into collections, so you can get all the Halloween episodes in one place for example, or you can watch them in order from the very beginning.
4.The World According to Jeff Goldblum
Who doesn't love Jeff Goldblum? This show follows the intense funny-man through different aspects of everyday-life and dives into the history and science behind what are now common-place things. Although some of the knowledge is quite general, it is a super interesting show, and just watching Jeff interact with people is a real treat. This was one of my first Disney+ watches and I can’t wait for the new series to air!
5. The Star Wars Universe
Star Wars has become the ultimate comfort TV for me. I know it’s technically more of a cinematic universe than a show, but there are shows such as The Mandalorian or Bad Batch, and you can’t watch The Mandalorian without smiling ear to ear when you see Grogu! I could watch A New Hope on repeat and never get bored. Same goes for Solo: A Star Wars Story. I don’t know if it’s the familiarity or just my sheer love for all things Star Wars but they are seriously comforting movies. All I need is a big bowl of popcorn, a glass of coke zero and somewhere comfy to sit and I am all set.
